Introducing TriWatch™: TriCorps’ Intelligence Monitoring Services
In the ongoing effort to keep TriCorps clients informed on potential security risks, we are proud to announce TriWatch™, a programmatic monitoring of three distinct sources of information on the web for specific kinds of data, both for safety and security purposes. The three sources include: open web sources (websites, online news, competitor sites), social media sources (blogs, Facebook, Twitter), and in indexed dark web sources.
Organizations in almost every industry worldwide stand to benefit from employing social media monitoring, and many have already jumped on board. The world we live in is becoming increasingly digital, and social media has given people a place to meet, connect, converse, or just post their thoughts. With billions of existing social media posts and profiles, and more being created daily, social media is one of the richest sources of information that organizations can use to aid in everything from loss prevention and asset security to customer engagement and brand awareness.
Social media monitoring tools have been around for a while, but mostly in the hands of marketers using them to track brand mentions and measure campaign effectiveness. Social media, however, contains so much more than just marketing insights. People post anything and everything on social media, including information about themselves, who they’re with, what they’re doing, what they plan to do, etc. that can help corporate security groups in an expanding variety of ways.
The dark web is a part of the world wide web that requires special software to access. Once inside, web sites and other services can be accessed through a browser in much the same way as the normal web. However, some sites are effectively “hidden,” in that they have not been indexed by a search engine and can only be accessed if you know the address of the site. Special markets also operate within the dark web called, “darknet markets,” which mainly sell illegal products like drugs and firearms, paid for in the cryptocurrency bitcoin.
Because of the dark web’s almost total anonymity, it has been the place of choice for groups wanting to stay hidden online from governments and law enforcement agencies. On one hand, there have been whistleblowers using the dark web to communicate with journalists, but more frequently it has been used by pedophile groups, terrorists and criminals to keep their dealings secret.
The TriWatch™ services will be configured to search for information regarding specific individuals or threat actors or to uncover any threats and provide intelligence to appropriate officials. This information can instantly be transmitted to our clients, keeping them ahead of potential threats, attacks or identity theft.
TriCorps is excited about the opportunities TriWatch™ presents. Combined with our team of seasoned security experts, TriWatch™ brings yet another layer of security defense to our clients.
